Yusen Air & Sea Service Co., Ltd. has been growing steadily since 1955 as one of the Japan's leading international airfreight forwarders.
The international physical distribution market has been growing rapidly, in step with economic globalization. The Company has been sustaining its own growth by meeting client needs and adapting flexibly to changing environments.
Based on its three-year Medium-term Business Plan, the "YAS Five-Star Project," which started in April 2008, the Group is highly focused on the last target year (fiscal year 2010), aiming to achieve significant growth and become a "Total Logistics Provider" with a substantial global presence.
The dramatic shift in the business environment in recent months has forced us to reduce our consolidated profit target, but we remain committed to the direction identified in our medium-term business plan. To achieve rapid progress in the years to come, YAS is pursuing three main strategies to develop five-star quality services befitting a world-class Total Logistics Provider.
Sales Strategy
- Strengthen overall integrated marketing and expand sales activities through reforms that divide functions between the operations and sales organizations, with the aim of increasing professional know-how in each business area.
- Reinforce product-based marketing.
- Aim to make further quality improvements to integrated services as a total logistics provider.
Organizational Strategy
- Accelerate the execution of the urgent project to improve the profit balance.
- Refine training activities and seek to make use of human resources throughout the YAS Group.
- Improve operating efficiency to strengthen services and cost competitiveness.
Basic Management Strategy
- Focus in particular on continually reinforcing risk management and compliance.
- Move forward with environmental and social contribution initiatives.
